About ALAG

Aims and objectives:

To promote the use of library and leisure services in the Asian communities.
To raise awareness of the needs and maintain service provision to Asian communities.
To liaise with other librarians, individuals, groups and library authorities with similar aims to promote racial equality in the library field.
To promote Asian languages, history, culture and heritage through library and information services.
To provide a forum for Asian librarians and workers from similar fields.

Membership:

Membership is open to Asian librarians, advisers with borough wide responsibility and ex-librarians on payment of annual subscription subject to the approval of ALAG. Members will have voting rights.

Meetings:

ALAG members meet every 8 weeks.
Annual General Meeting is held once a year and within 14 months of the previous AGM.
