Its venue will be the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster, and it has attracted an unmatched panel of expert speakers to discuss the potential of Wi-Fi for the whole library community, including Mike O’Brien, Minister of State for Energy and E-Commerce who will deliver a Keynote Address.
The programme will include presentations on current and potential use of Wi-Fi in libraries, the preliminary results of a pilot Wi-Fi initiative in 10 local authorities, Interactive Workshop on technology and social issues, and the special presentation by the Minister. A Leaders’ Debate will be held on Where Now for Wi-Fi? And there will be ample time for delegates to network in refreshment breaks and at the Conference Reception.
The conference is backed by a powerful array of sponsoring organisations and it also offers a range of sponsorship opportunities for suppliers.
Who should attend?
CILIP’s Wi-Fi Conference is aimed at Chiefs of Library Services, Directors of Information Management, Heads of e-government in local authorities as well as suppliers of WiFi and related technology.
Chairs and members of committees that oversee these services will also find the conference highly informative and useful in establishing the options available. The conference will also be directly relevant to Directors of Information Services in the universities and those with strategic responsibility for providing facilities in public spaces.
