This half-day course focuses on the bibliographic description of computer and web resources. Its purpose is to develop greater depth of knowledge by exploring the AACR2 elements of the topic alongside the MARC format requirements.

Participants will gain an integrated understanding of this specialist area of work in the MARC 21 format.
Throughout the course the difference between what the formats allow and what is appropriate for a particular organisation to include will be clearly highlighted.
The course will include:
- specific chapters of AACR2 that relate to MARC 21
- appropriate MARC 21 tags for AACR2 distinctions
- extra elements that the MARC 21 format allows

Special notes: participants will need to have a basic understanding of MARC 21 format and terminology, and some experience of AACR2.
