New!

New copyright and information law website from Paul Pedley

Take a Tour

8 May 2008, London - FULLY BOOKED
13 November 2008, London

This course has been completely revised to ensure it provides a full grounding in copyright basics.

Beginning with the basic principles and concepts of copyright law, and ending with a look at some of the concerns of library & information staff when trying to comply with copyright law.

The course content takes account of developments in copyright law such as the Gowers review on intellectual property, relevant EU directives and significant legal cases.

There are plenty of opportunities throughout the day to discuss any unresolved issues.

Benefits of attending
Participants will have a good basic understanding of copyright and its various exceptions and limitations. They will know how to provide a service without breaking copyright law and be aware of the issues arising when one is not able to identify or locate the copyright owner.
Who should attend?
Anyone affected by copyright issues in a library and information setting will benefit from this course. Aimed at those with little knowledge of copyright and good for anyone wanting a refresher course in this fast-developing field.
