This one day course offers a better understanding of licence agreements and the challenges involved in contract negotiation.

The day will help participants become familiar with the layout used in typical licence agreements for information products, so that they are not put off by the technical language or “legalese” that these agreements contain.

The course includes practical sessions to familiarise participants with examples of suppliers’ terms and conditions; and also to think about the key issues to address when negotiating licence terms. It will provide practical tips and strategies which participants can use in their work.

Benefits of attending
By the end of the day participants will have a good understanding of the typical clauses contained in contracts for electronic products; and will feel more confident when negotiating on price and other contract terms.

Who should attend?
Information professionals who have responsibility for negotiating contracts and licence agreements, and who need to gain a better understanding of licence agreements and the challenges involved in contract negotiation.
