This course is an introduction into information architecture. It will give an overview to delegates of information architecture within the organisation, covering the essential points important to information and knowledge professionals. It will give an understanding of information architecture products and an overview of how IA relates to mainstream IT activities, knowledge of information architecture capabilities of software tools and ongoing governance and maintenance procedures.

Learning Outcomes


Identify the main enterprise information architecture products and their uses. Examples of enterprise information architecture products are metadata schemas, taxonomies and content type definitions.  

Understand the business benefits of information architecture.  

Learn how to develop and govern information architectures and projects, by working from business strategy, through personas and task analysis, to metadata and taxonomy.
