PKSB for Health

CILIP launched the Professional Knowledge and Skills Base (PKSB) in 2012 following extensive consultation with employers, the library, information and knowledge community and learning providers. Health Education England published Knowledge for Healthcare: a development framework for NHS library and knowledge services in England in 2014. Our two organisations have partnered to create this version of the PKSB to help the health sector develop the library and knowledge service workforce it needs for the 21st century. 

The PKSB for Health outlines the broad range of skills required by librarians, information and knowledge professionals working in health. This version has been enriched with the addition of examples from a health setting throughout.

Access for CILIP Members

CILIP members can access the PKSB for Health two ways.
