The 2023 Green Libraries Conference aims to connect library staff at all levels to share ideas and insights on environmental understanding and action. A free, one-day event for public libraries in England on the theme of ‘Working Together for People and Planet’, the Conference programme features keynotes, PechaKucha style presentations and panel discussions with inspirational speakers from the library sector who will share best practice, spotlight new ideas and showcase successful examples of environmental action in libraries. (Library staff outside of England are welcome to attend). Environmental Responsibility is a key agenda for a wide range of organisations both within the library sector and beyond. The Green Libraries Partnership brings together leading sector organisations - CILIP, Arts Council England, the British Library, Libraries Connected and environmental charity, Julie’s Bicycle - with the aim to respond to COP26 and the long-term climate commitments made by libraries and local authorities across England. We are taking steps to lessen the environmental impact of the Green Libraries Conference. Over the coming weeks we will share what we have done and how our delegates can help. Please note - you may register up to a maximum of two people per organisation.
