Fascinated by Facts, Passionate about Poetry: How the Library can Help
YLG London One Day School

Tuesday 12th June 9am-4pm

The speakers – poets, authors, judges, publishers – will represent a range of perspectives and experiences. This course is aimed at librarians and other people working in the children’s and young peoples’ library sector and will provide:

• Practical advice for engaging a young audience with Poetry, with a workshop on SLAM poetry
• Practical advice for making non-fiction more widely accessible for young readers
• Ideas for inclusive poetry and non-fiction collections
• Raised stock awareness with a focus on poetry and non-fiction
• Raised awareness of the wider literary network

The bookshop Tales on Moon Lane will be with us so there will be an opportunity to buy books.

 

Cost £55 + VAT (including lunch). Invoices will be sent after the event.
