Thomas Plume's library was funded in 1704 under the terms of the will of Dr Thomas Plume, Vicar of Greenwich. He bequeathed his collection of some 8,100 books and pamphlets to his native town. More details www.thomasplumeslibrary.co,uk

Maldon is a lovely little town with several interesting shops.

Travel: to arrive at Maldon for 11.30 necessitates  catching the 9.48 Greater Anglia train to Braintree; alight Chelmsford and at 
bus station stand 2 catch 31X bus at 10,35 . NB: Plus bus tickts do NOT cover this.

Available places: 10

Cost:  £30.00 for the visit and £45.00 for the tour so the more that come the cheaper it is! There is the option to have a buffet lunch at £8.50 per head.

The Thomas Plume Library is on the corner of Market Hill and High Street, Maldon.
