After the headliner report from the Literacy Trust about children's poor digital literacy skills, YLG London invites you instead to come to a day celebrating information literacy and to explore the exciting new resources currently being used to promote and teach it in libraries today.

  • Jonathan Douglas from the Literacy Trust discusses their latest report on Information Literacy : Fake news and critical literacy
  • Panel discussion with Bev Humphrey and Jane Secker
  • Game-based learning talk with Sarah Pavey
  • Ross O'Neill from Coder Dojo -  a global volunteer-led community of free programming workshops for young people between 7 and 17.
  • The Day - News to open minds- Current affairs resource - Richard Addis CEO and Editor-in-Chief  

  • Presentation from Usborne books including talks from authors Alex Frith and Alice James on how they design and research their non-fiction books
  • Sessions building on the gamification talk, and a chance to discuss and swap ideas, highlight importance of working with teachers and awareness of ready-made resources eg. fake websites
