Photographic Process Identification Workshop

This hands-on workshop will provide an introduction to the early history of photography. There will be an emphasis on identifying historic photographic processes, particularly those commonly found in printed books. Participants will also discuss conservation and preservation issues relating to photographic collections. Organised by RBSCG Bibliographic Standards Committee. Limited to 15 places. £25+VAT for CILIP members and £50+VAT for non-members.

Photographic Process Identification Workshop

The RBSCG Bibliographic Standards Committee is pleased to offer a half-day workshop on Identification of Photographic Processes, taught by Rachel Nordstrom, Photographic Collections Manager at the University of St Andrews Library, Special Collections Division.

Although organised by the Bibliographic Standards Committee, this workshop is not just for cataloguers. It will provide an introduction to the early history of photography, with an emphasis on identifying some historic photographic processes, particularly those commonly found in printed books. Participants will also discuss conservation and preservation issues related to photographic collections.

The workshop will be held at 2pm on Friday, 6th September, immediately following the close of the annual study conference. The workshop will take place in Cardiff University Special Collections & Archives seminar room, a short walk from the conference venue at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Registration will be £25+VAT for RBSCG members and £50+VAT for non-members. Limited to 15 places.
