Mirror Mirror: Reflective Practice for Library & Information Professionals

Wednesday 15 July 2020; 12:30-13:30

Are you currently completing, or hoping to undertake, your CILIP professional registration portfolio?

Do you want to develop yourself for the workplace by becoming a more reflective practitioner?

What does critical reflection, and the ability to capture this in writing, even mean?!

Join CILIP South West for a free webinar on reflective writing skills, led by Virginia Power, programme leader for the University of the West of England's Master's degree in Information Management.

Reflective writing is a skill familiar to those undertaking professional registration, which requires candidates to submit a portfolio of evidence demonstrating professional development. To succeed, candidates must accompany their evidence with critical annotations and comments, having reflected on how their evidence supports their development according to identified areas of CILIP's PKSB (Professional Knowledge and Skills Base).

Reflective writing skills enable you to become a more discerning practitioner at work: one who is better attuned to the way you operate within your organisation, and who can identify where and how to improve service delivery, whether your own or across your workplace.

This free webinar is for those who are in the CILIP South West Member Network. If you are not in this region, please do get in touch with the event organiser, Helene Russell, who will let you know about other events that might be of interest.

Following registration, you will be contacted with the link to join the webinar via the Zoom platform.
