If you work with others, you are probably coaching or mentoring them without even knowing it. Anyone with relevant experience can mentor and absolutely everyone can coach.

This training session, led by Daniel Park, the Library and Knowledge Service Manager at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, helps you to tease out the skills you need to help other people reflect on their strengths and weaknesses and develop themselves both personally and professionally.

We will outline a few simple coaching models and try one of these out in a practical session where you will work in pairs to practice what you’ve learned in the session. By the end, you should have gained the confidence to choose and use a coaching model to help motivate and develop your colleagues.

• 11.1 Leadership skills: Influencing and inspiring individuals, teams and organisations to achieve change. Applicable at all levels, it includes understanding leadership styles and self-awareness of your own style and personal impact. Horizon scanning to inform a sense of vision and direction.
