Cyhoeddi Enillwyr Tîm y Flwyddyn CILIP Cymru Wales 2023

Llyfrgelloedd Grŵp Colegau NPTC yw enillwyr Tîm y Flwyddyn CILIP Cymru Wales 2023 am eu hamrywiaeth o ddigwyddiadau i ddarparu adnoddau a gwasanaethau hanfodol i gefnogi iechyd a lles eu cymuned o fyfyrwyr.

Am Tîm y Flwyddyn CILIP Cymru Wales 2023

Mae CILIP Cymru Wales wedi bod yn dathlu timau anhygoel gwasanaethau gwybodaeth a llyfrgell ers 2020. Mae’r wobr, a noddir gan Lywodraeth Cymru a CILIP Cymru Wales, yn dathlu cyraeddiadau timau sy’n gweithio o fewn Gwasanaethau Gwybodaeth a Llyfrgell yng Nghymru. Croesawyd ceisiadau o bob sector, o dimau yn gweithio ar draws gwahanol sefydliadau, a gan dimau o bob maint a siâp. Gallai’r ceisiadau ddisgrifio cyflawniadau arbennig, prosiect arloesol, neu wydnwch yn wyneb amgylchiadau heriol.

Eleni derbyniwyd y nifer mwyaf erioed o geisiadau, gydag wyth tîm yn cystadlu am y wobr chwenyched.

Roedd Cadeirydd CILIP Cymru Wales, Jamie Finch, wrth ei fodd gyda’r ceisiadau:

“Rydym yn hynod o ddiolchgar i’r wyth tîm a enwebwyd ag, o rain, llongyfarchiadau i’r tri enillydd. Mae gweithio fel tîm  yn wirioneddol sicrhau fod y freuddwyd yn gweithio ag yn rhoi llyfrgelloedd yng nghalon ein cymdeithas ar gyfer lles amgylcheddol, ar gyfer y rhai mwyaf anghenus, a chynnau llythrennedd sy’n sail hanfodol i addysg.”

Am Enillwyr Tîm y Flwyddyn CILIP Cymru Wales 2023

Cafodd Grŵp Llyfrgelloedd NPTC eu canmol gan y beirniaid am eu gwaith yn sicrhau adnoddau misglwyf cynaliadwy ar gyfer merched; am eu casgliad dillad gaeaf a gweithgareddau mannau cynnes yn cyfrannu at iechyd a lles eu myfyrwyr; ac ar gyfer eu sialens ddarllen blynyddoedd i wella darllen am bleser a llythrennedd, yn benodol yn 2023  gweithio gyda cheiswyr lloches o Syria ag Wcráin.

Mae Grŵp NPTC yn un o’r darparwyr addysg bellach mwyaf yng Nghymru, yn gorchuddio 30% o dir y wlad. Mae’r tîm llyfrgell wedi eu lleoli dros bedwar prif goleg yn Afan, Neath, Aberhonddu a’r Drenewydd, ag yn gwasanaethu cymuned amrywiol. Mae Gwasanaeth Llyfrgell NPTC yn darparu amgylchedd croesawgar a chefnogol ar gyfer llwyddiant academaidd a galwedigaethol, ond hefyd yn cynnig adnoddau hanfodol a chynhwysol i gefnogi aelodau eu cymuned, yn arbennig yr aelodau mwyaf bregus.

Roedd Pennaeth Gwasanaethau Llyfrgell Grŵp Colegau NTPC, Joanne Mather, wrth ei bodd gyda’r newyddion:

“Rydw i wedi bod yn aelod o Wasanaethau Llyfrgell NPTC ers dros 20 mlynedd. Rwyf wedi bod yn falch o fod yn rhan o dîm gweithgar, gofalgar ac mae’n wych cael cydnabyddiaeth mae pawb yn rhoi i mewn i wasanaethu’r gymuned.”

Gwobrwywyd ail safle i Lyfrgell Y Pîl am eu cyfraniad tuag at raglen Sialens Ddarllen yr Haf Awen 2023 ag am ddangos effaith glir creu amgylchedd positif i ddarllen am bleser a grwpiau darllen i ffynnu.

Aeth y trydydd safle i Dîm Pencampwyr Eco Gwasanaethau Llyfrgell Prifysgol Caerdydd am eu hymrwymiad i hyfforddi staff am gynaliadwyaeth a llythrennedd carbon. Cafodd eu prosiect ei gefnogi gan ymgyrch Llyfrgelloedd Gwyrdd CILIP.

Gafodd y tri thîm buddugol eu canmol gan y pedwar beirniad am eu hymdriniaeth arloesol i gynnig gwasanaethau. Yn ogystal, canmolwyd yr wyth cais gan y beirniaid am amlygu themâu a sialensiau yn gyffredin a hyrwyddo ymarfer gorau mewn gwasanaethau a gweithgareddau llyfrgell ar draws Cymru. Bydd y tri enillydd wedi cael eu dathlu’n swyddogol yn ystod Cynhadledd CILIP Cymru Wales ar y 17 Mai 2024 yn Caerdydd.

CILIP Cymru Wales Team of the Year Award 2023 Winners Announced

NPTC Group of Colleges Libraries wins top prize in the CILIP Cymru Team of the Year Award 2023 for their range of community events to provide essential resources and services to support health and wellbeing of their student community.

About CILIP Cymru Wales Library Team of the Year Award  

CILIP Cymru Wales has been celebrating amazing library and information teams since 2020. This award, sponsored by the Welsh Government and CILIP Cymru Wales, celebrates the achievements of teams working within Library and Information Services in Wales. Entries are welcome from all sectors, from teams working across different organisations, and from teams of all shapes and sizes. Nominations can describe special achievements, an innovative project, or resilience in the face of challenging circumstances.  

This year’s award received the highest number of nominations yet, with eight teams vying for the coveted prize.

CILIP Cymru Wales Chair, Jamie Finch, was delighted with the entries:

“My heartfelt gratitude to the eight nominee teams and, of these, many congratulations to the three winners.  It may sound cheesy, but teamwork truly does make the dream work and helps put libraries at the heart of our communities for environmental good, those in greatest need, and igniting literacy upon which education itself depends.”

About CILIP Cymru Wales Library Team of the Year Award  Winners

NPTC Group of Colleges Libraries were commended by the judges for their work in ensuring sustainable period products for women; for their winter clothes drive and warm spaces events contributing to the health and wellbeing of students; and for their annual reading challenge designed to improve reading for pleasure and literacy and particularly, in 2023, working with refugees from Syria and Ukraine.

NPTC Group of Colleges is one of the largest further education providers in Wales, covering 30% of the country’s landmass. The library team is based across four of its main sites, Afan, Brecon, Neath and Newtown, and serves a diverse and wide-ranging community. NPTC Library Service provides a welcoming and supportive environment for academic and vocational success but also offers essential resources and inclusive support to its community members, especially those who are most vulnerable.  

Head of Library Services at NPTC Group of Colleges, Joanne Mather, was delighted with the news:

“I’ve been part of NPTC Library Services for over 20 years. I’ve always been proud to be part of such a hardworking, caring team and it is wonderful to achieve recognition for the work everyone puts into our library community.”

Second place was awarded to Pyle Library’s Awen’s Summer Reading Challenge 2023 programme by showing a clear impact in creating a positive environment in which reading groups and reading challenges can thrive.

Third place was awarded to the Cardiff University Library Services Eco Champions Team for their commitment to sustainability and carbon literacy training for all staff. Their project was supported by the CILIP Green Libraries campaign.

The three winning teams were commended by the four judges for their innovative approaches to service delivery. However, the judges praised the quality of all eight applications that highlighted universal themes and shared challenges and showcased best practice in library services and activities across Wales. All three winning teams were formally celebrated at the CILIP Wales Conference on 17^th May 2024 in Cardiff.
