CILIP Conference

UKeiG has an involvement in, or link with, several conferences

Internet Librarian International

ILI is all about the exchange of ideas, knowledge and experience, exploring the big questions that challenge libraries and information professionals right now.

Which new technologies, services and business models are most appropriate today?
Where should we focus our attentions next?
What changes can we make to ensure our communities thrive?
How do we deliver 'constant innovation'?
How can we meet the often unexpressed needs of our customers?
UKeIG members benefit from a discount to attend the full conference.

Discounts for UKeiG Members

UKeiG members are entitled to claim a 25% discount on fees for the main conference using code UKEIG25 when registering. Discounts are also available for multiple delegates from the same organisation

Internet Librarian International 15/16th October 2019
Olympia Conference Centre, London, UK

The Tony Kent Strix Annual Lecture Series

Although not strictly a conference, UKeiG is pleased to run a series of free annual lectures associated with the prestigious Tony Kent Strix Award for information retrieval. Each year the previous year's winner will be invited to talk and answer questions about their research. These lectures should be of interest to all archive, records, information or knowledge managers, developers and researchers concerned with search and the retrieval of information.

Networking: If you would like to work with us to create an event, there is an e-mail link at the foot of the page.

As well as formal professional development events, UKeiG is already running a series of less formal meetings - sometimes jointly with other groups or regional networks - to chat and swap ideas. There may be speakers or facilitators or it may be simply a social networking event focused on some aspect of our work or your interests.

There's nothing quite like talking to, sharing ideas with and learning from other information professionals. We love to work with other professional groups and organisations to create networking opportunities for our members and others.

Future Events: If you have an idea for an informal networking event - either in an afternoon or possibly after work - please let us know. We will get in touch with you, flesh out the idea and we'll be networking!

Please contact the Group's administrator,, in the first instance.
