CILIP writes to Tech Secretary Peter Kyle MP

CILIP writes to Secretary of State

CILIP Chief Executive Louis Coiffait-Gunn has written to Secretary of State, Peter Kyle, to show support for the government’s proposals for the Digital Information and Smart Data Bill and the Product Safety and Metrology Bill, and welcome him into his new role.

In the letter, Louis welcomed the government’s proposals for the Digital Information and Smart Data Bill and the Product Safety and Metrology Bill, which were announced in the King’s Speech, and called for data and technology to be harnessed effectively so they can boost innovation, investment, and productivity across the UK.

Louis also expressed CILIP's support for new tech such as AI to be deployed in ways that deliver benefits while protecting citizens and workers.
