John Dolan has filled the vacant Trustee position on CILIP Council. The vacancy followed Tom Roper’s decision to resign from Council. John was previously a Trustee of CILIP between 2010 and 2013, serving as Chair of Council for two years.
John said "I welcome the opportunity to serve as a member of Council. I’m passionate about the contribution that the library, information and knowledge profession makes to society, learning and the economy, and CILIP’s role supporting, developing and representing members.”
CILIP’s Bye-laws state that when the office of Councillor becomes vacant mid-term, following a contested election, the unsuccessful candidate who received the highest number of votes should be approached to automatically fill the vacancy. See Bye-law 58 for full details.
