Artificial intelligence specialists work to create software and systems that can ‘think’ like humans – this means developing software that can not only gather and process information, but also use it to make and act on informed decisions.
An AI specialist will typically work with machine learning specialists and data scientists to formulate and test decision making systems and may form part of a wider data analytics team.
Qualifications and experience
A degree (ideally a Master’s) in cognitive or computer science is a good starting point for a career in AI. You’ll also be expected to be fluent in several programming languages (C# and Java as a minimum) and have direct experience of working
in programming or systems analysis.
