Data analytics managers work in larger organisations leading analytics teams which can consist of data scientists, analysts, architects, engineers, machine learning specialists and statisticians. The data analytics manager’s role to is ensure that an organisations data collection processes, systems, policies, research and methods of analysis are working effectively to deliver accurate and timely information.

They’ll also be responsible for delivering improvements to an organisation’s analytics capability and implementing improvements to databases.

Qualifications and experience

You’ll be expected to have a working knowledge of SQL and scripting languages such as R or Python as well as experience using third party analytics suites (e.g Google Analytics). Experience in designing databases, database management, data science and software engineering is also essential for leading a data analytics team.
