Guide to logging on to the VLE

How to log in to the CILIP VLE

The CILIP VLE is one of the benefits you can access as part of your membership. These instructions guide you through how to log into the CILIP Website and access the CILIP VLE.

If you are not a CILIP member, but would like to join and have access to the CILIP VLE please go to Join Now on the website to become a member.

Go to and choose VLE sign in from the drop down menu

Enter your username and password and click on the sign in button

You will then see a page with a blue sign in button

Click on that and you will be taken into the CILIP VLE homepage where all the courses are listed

To help you navigate here are some starting points:

  • Go into the Getting Started on the VLE for a tour of the VLE
  • Do you want to find out more about Professional Registration or Revalidation? Choose the Professional Registration category on the course listing
  • Want to find courses to support your CPD? Choose Resources to Support the PKSB where you can browse courses by subject
  • You can search by keyword using the search box at the top of the course listing - scroll down the page to see it

Logging into CILIP Portfolio

 As part of the VLE CILIP have provided a portfolio tool for you to use to log your professional development, and put together collections of content that showcase your work and skills. If you are undertaking Professional Registration or revalidating you will need to use the CILIP Portfolio for your submission.

In the right hand corner of the home screen you will see a link to CILIP Portfolio listed under network servers - highlighted in the image below:

Click on that link and you will be taken into the CILIP Portfolio.


I can log into the CILIP Website but not the VLE

If you can log into the CILIP website but it doesn't then let you log into the VLE this can be caused by browser caching problems. To fix this:

  • Log out of the CILIP website
  • Clear your browsing history
  • Press F5 to refresh your browser
  • Log in again

If you continue to have problems it may be browser related, so try using a different browser e.g. Chrome or Firefox.

I can't remember my password

If you can't remember your password then there is a link to reset this on the sign in page - as shown below
