Professional Registration Chartership for Knowledge Management
Demonstrate to employers that you have achieved the gold standard as a knowledge management professional by becoming a Chartered Knowledge Manager with CILIP.
Chartership is a great way to further develop your foundation of skills and knowledge and apply these skills and knowledge in your current and future activities. It demonstrates that you are committed to your own development and to working in knowledge management. Through application of your learning in professional practice you can achieve recognition as a Chartered Knowledge Manager.
There are no barriers to entry – Chartership is available to all CILIP members with experience in knowledge management.
Once you are awarded Chartership you can use MCLIP Chartered Knowledge Manager, for as long as you continue to be a member of CILIP.
What does Chartership involve?
There are three key elements to achieving Chartership:
- You’ll need to show how you have used the Professional Knowledge and Skills Base (PKSB) for Knowledge Management to examine your skills and knowledge and identified areas for development based on improving your performance in your current role or for future roles. Once you’ve taken steps to develop these skills you’ll be assessed on how you’ve used your new knowledge.
- You’ll need to consider your organisation’s mission, aims or objectives and evaluate your service’s performance against these. You’ll be assessed on your ability to identify areas for service improvement and the recommendations you make to close the gap between current and ideal practice.
- Finally, you’ll need to demonstrate how you enhance your knowledge of the wider professional context and reflect on your current areas of interest.
