Achieving successful business change

This programme will draw on a full range of behavioural and procedural concepts and techniques in a participative and practical way, to equip participants with the necessary skills and tools for effective business change.

Learning outcomes

Achieving successful business change is a multi-faceted endeavour that requires behavioural as well as procedural skills and techniques. There are many change management methodologies available to address these skills and techniques. By the end of the course participants will have:

  • Increased their awareness of how they and their stakeholders might experience and respond to change.
  • Learnt some influencing strategies for effective business change.
  • Identified potential strategic and tactical approaches for implementing change within their organisations.

The programme will be of benefit to Library and Information Professionals working on their own, as managers, or as part of a team in academic, public and private sector organisations. It will be especially useful to those who are responsible for implementing change in their organisations. Please note that no prior knowledge of change management is assumed and all jargon will be explained in simple terms.

Elisabeth Goodman (BSc Biochemistry, MSc Information Science) has 25+ years experience in Information Management and Business Consulting in Pharmaceutical R&D.  She co-led SmithKline Beecham Information Management’s organisational Knowledge Management strategy and later joined an internal GSK business consulting team to foster knowledge working within the team and more widely.  Elisabeth now runs RiverRhee Consulting, whose primary aim is to create exceptional managers and teams.
