The Public and Mobile Library Group exists to provide information, training, development and networking opportunities to all levels of staff working in public and mobile libraries and to act as advocates for public library services.
Following discussions between the Public Libraries Group (PLG) & the Branch and Mobile Libraries Group (BMLG) it was proposed that the groups would be merged to form one unified group to be known as the Public and Mobile Libraries Group (PMLG). The new group was created in 2013.
This new group encompases all levels of member, both front-line & backroom staff, from first job to senior management in the public library field, as well as mobile library staff from all fields. PMLG will be a powerful advocate for its members and the sector as a whole, as well as providing members with training, professional development opportunities, support & advice.
