Library & Information History Group Tour: Birmingham and Midland Institute

Beginning with a short history of the Birmingham & Midland Institute, including its merger with the famous Birmingham Library (founded in 1779), Dr Connie Wan will lead a tour of the building and its collections.

The tour will last around 1 hour.

Revalidation Support

This session will offer support to people wishing to revalidate their CILIP Certification, Chartership or Fellowship.

 

Those attending will be helped to add their continued professional development records and personal statement to the VLE and shown how to arrange and submit their revalidation application.

Introduction to Professional Registration Workshop & Mentor Support Network Meeting

This will be a half day event for candidates working towards CILIP professional registration and is a great opportunity to get some help with your portfolio, network with library colleagues and meet local mentors and the Candidate Support Officer.

 

The workshop will explain the professional registration process, introduce candidates to the VLE and help them understand what to include in their portfolio. We shall also have some local mentors joining the first part of the workshop.
