Professional Registration Event

This free event is open to anyone considering or working towards Certification, Chartership, Fellowship or Revalidation. The workshop will provide candidates with an understanding of the professional registration process; share ideas about how to construct a portfolio and discuss the types of evidence that can be included in it.

The afternoon will also provide an opportunity to meet members who have already undergone professional registration as well as those that will be embarking on the journey at the same time as you.

The LAI/CILIP Ireland Annual Joint Conference will take place in the Tullamore Court Hotel, Tullamore, Co. Offaly from the evening of Wednesday 29th to Friday 31st March 2017.

The programme this year explores our connection with users. Should we watch rather than listen? We are facing unprecedented technological change and our speakers will challenge us to be dynamic and innovative delivering quality services with our users central to the development of our services.

The day will provide an opportunity to listen to a range of speakers including Nick Poole CILIP CEO and Helen Osborn Director of Library Services, Libraries NI present on issues relating to the event theme of evidencing impact.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to contribute to discussions, network, and attend the CILIP Ireland AGM. The event will include lunch and be followed by an optional tour of the Linen Hall Library.

Survive and Thrive: Strategies for Success

The Conference you’ve been waiting for!

Plenary sessions cover strategic planning and advocacy for libraries of all types plus a presentation on the leading joint-use library in the UK and Ireland.

Smaller scale learning sessions and workshops include the recognition of CPD activities, marketing, how to make an impact and get published – as well as exchanges of experience and updates on the Decade of Commemorations, Open Libraries and a shared library management system.

The CILIP Information Literacy Group AGM will take place during the LILAC Conference, at University College Dublin. It will be held in the George Moore Lecture Theatre, 13:00-13:30, Tuesday 22nd March 2016.

Attendance at the AGM is free and open to all ILG members. If you are already attending LILAC there is no need to book separately for the AGM – simply attend on the day.

How the Assembly Works
