Another popular SLG event, this time held in the newly refurbished Levene Learning Centre at the City of London School.  The event is hosted by the librarian, David Rose.  Please note that the easiest way to reach this event is by public transport, as there is no parking at the school and parking is only available at a public car park nearby.

Please add your dietary requirements (if any) to the Questions/Comments box in the form.   A buffet lunch is included in the price of this event.

Programme

Some parts of the programme are still tbc, but most of the exciting and varied lineup are in place.

Sarah Pavey - ex school librarian, now independent trainer, will be speaking to us about Engaging with Essays.  This talk is really practical, and helps school librarians to assist students in putting their work together.  It is particularly helpful for any librarians who help EPQ or IBAC students organise their work.

John Iona - ex school librarian and previous SLOTY winner, now works as a subject librarian at Middlesex University.  John will be bringing his experience from both sides of the divide to give us a talk called Lost in Transition - how school librarians might help prepare students with the skills needed to navigate the demands of HE.

David Rose - our host, will combine a tour of the newly refurbished Levene Learning Centre with a talk on how this was created and managed

Amanda Ball - school librarian will give us a talk on graphic novels entitled: 'Diversity Exploration in Graphic Novels: Not just Superheroes.  This will take a look at the burgeoning number of diverse graphic novels referencing different races creeds, genders and LGBTQ figures and situations.  Including some activities on how to explore graphic novels in the classroom.  For both primary and secondary schools.
