A resource looking at how positive it can be to be different
Hot on the heels of our very successful pack of book related World War 1 discussions and activities, National School Libraries Group committee members have produced another ‘must have’ resource called ‘Being Me’.
Sensitive issues relating to identity, differences and adversity are looked at via the medium of literature. With the collective knowledge and experience of these professional school librarians, discussion and activity sheets have been produced. These sheets have been designed to show not only the importance of fiction, but also to help the readers understand and empathise with others or to help boost their own self esteem.
This pack is available for only £10.00 and members of SLG can download this for free at http://www.cilip.org.uk/school-libraries-group/publications/being-me. We recommend buying a copy though as the high quality production makes it even more appealing.
Each pack has a poster that can be used to promote these materials around school.
