The library of the Dean and Chapter at St Paul’s Cathedral is a rare and hidden gem in the City of London. It is housed in a stunning eighteenth century chamber designed by Sir Christopher Wren high up at Triforium level behind the South West Tower.

Although the original library fell victim to the Great Fire in 1666, a new library was built up and now consists of over 30,000 items. Subjects covered include the building and development of St Pauls; Christopher Wren; the history of the Church and the Church in the City.

The visit will include a guided tour of the collection by the librarian of St Paul's. There is no charge for this visit, but numbers are limited, so please book early.

We will meet outside the West Front of St Paul’s at 2.00 p.m. and we will need to climb 140 shallow steps in an enclosed staircase to reach the library. Your place on the visit will be confirmed and detailed joining instructions provided.
