The BBC Archives holds thousands of files, scripts and working papers from all parts of the BBC dating from the BBC’s formation in 1922 to the 1980s. This includes core documents which have formed the BBC’s written history, such as correspondence, memoranda, contracts, scripts and many publications and information about older programmes and the history of broadcasting. BBC Monitoring monitors and reports on mass media worldwide. They select and translate information from radio, television, press, news agencies and the internet from 150 countries in more than 70 languages.
CILIP Thames Valley has planned an exciting opportunity to go on a guided tour of the BBC Archives. This tour will include a visit to the BBC Written Archives and BBC Monitoring.
Everyone is welcome to attend; please book before 19 June.
Meeting point and details to be confirmed.
