UKeiG has an involvement in, or link with, several conferences
Like all Special Interest Groups, UKeiG is involved with the CILIP Conference.
ILI is all about the exchange of ideas, knowledge and experience, exploring the big questions that challenge libraries and information professionals right now.
UKeiG is a gold sponsor for the 2015 conference and un-conference - an event which took place on 13th October for anyone and everyone who contributes to an intranet... with the following details:
- A hybrid conference / unconference – a morning of presentations and an afternoon of group discussions;
- Great speakers, practical topics;
- Low-cost; high-value;
- Sometime in mid-October 2015;
- Decent lunch;
- Two award ceremonies (not too long);
- Drinks (and food?) afterwards.
See Conference web site for further details.
The UKeiG Intranet Manager of the Year award was presented during the conference, see Award page.
UKeiG is a conference sponsor for this Knowledge Organization conference exploring boundaries that separate KO researchers from the practitioners who could benefit from their findings.
Although not strictly a conference, UKeiG is pleased to run a series of free annual lectures associated with the prestigious Tony Kent Strix Award for information retrieval. Each year the previous year's winner will be invited to talk and answer questions about their research. These lectures should be of interest to all archive, records, information or knowledge managers, developers and researchers concerned with search and the retrieval of information.
For many years UKOLUG held an Annual Lecture during the major Online Conference and Exhibition in London during December. The event was one of the important dates in our calendar and was always well attended... and the Group managed to attract some important and well-known speakers. The series is recorded here.
