Research Data Spring: JISC is improving research data management

[24 Mar 2015] As noted here last December, researchers in the UK are set to benefit from the development of new services which should overcome some of the biggest challenges in the sector. JISC's Research Data Spring will create partnerships between researchers, librarians, publishers and developers to develop new solutions to common research problems, such as how to find and re-use data that are scattered among a variety of different data management systems. At launch, 70 ideas for solutions were submitted; now, following discussions and collaborative development work some projects have merged, leaving 17 selected for funding. These 17 projects have three months to refine their ideas before pitching for further funding. Continued development of prototypes will result in a final showcase event in summer 2016.
