UKeiG Training

UKeiG’s training programme is designed to meet the challenges facing information professionals in today’s digital workplaces.

We aim to offer practical, relevant, cost effective and high quality training to people who are working in a challenging environment – meeting the demands of clients, working with reduced budgets and dealing with an explosion of content and devices.

As a national membership organisation UKeiG is committed to the skills development of all of our members.  In previous years, we have run courses in Birmingham, Edinburgh, London, Manchester, Newcastle and York.

Our courses are open to members and non-members.  Members pay almost 20% less than non-members.  Find out more about other benefits of being a member.

Do you have an idea for a new course or venue? Please e-mail admin@ukeig.org.uk.

If you don’t see a course or location that fits your needs, please contact us.

UKeiG can also run workshops for your staff in your workplace. Among other benefits, this allows courses to be customised to meet your requirements. More details here.

UKeiG training events are not to be missed and generally score highly on feedback sheets; they fill up quickly - so please book early to avoid disappointment! Typical responses to our courses are:

"The courses ... are of world class quality and in these cash-straitened times, superb value for money."

"Really interesting - learnt lots of new things!"

"Right pace and clarity"

CILIP's Professional Knowledge and Skills Base (PKSB) is described as a map of the knowledge and skills in the library, information and knowledge professions. It can be used as a self-assessment tool for professional development or to demonstrate a unique skill set to employers. It is also a framework for training and development plans, and this is why reference to it appears here.
