Chair Elect for YLG Wales Wanted!

Youth Libraries Group Wales has an exciting opportunity to announce. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated person to become Chair Elect. We are an energetic and lively group and it is a great opportunity to network and a brilliant way to develop professionally.

In your role as Chair Elect you will shadow the Chair for a year in preparation to becoming Chair yourself but there is plenty of opportunity to gain experience in that time. The Chair Elect supports the work of the Chair and can deputise if necessary.

Other roles you can take on are:

  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • National YLG Representative
  • CILIP CKG Judge

We are a very inclusive and friendly group who would like to encourage as many people to take part in children’s work and activities and to promote libraries and reading for pleasure.

As a committee we meet up 3 times a year to plan our training day/unconference and our CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway YLG Wales shortlisting day.

We do ask that you are a member of CILIP and of YLG. Our members come from public libraries, schools, school library services, colleges, universities and early year’s settings.

The closing date for applications is June 15th 2017. For more information please contact Alexandra Ball at balla@caerphilly.gov.uk
