Library and Information Research Group

The Library and Information Research Group (LIRG) promotes the value of information research and links research with practice.

The group was formed in 1977 to bring together those interested in library and information research.

In April 2003 LIRG became a Special Interest Group of CILIP.

 

Training/Events

  • Social Media for Researchers:

    Monday, 15 June 2015 - 9:30am to 4:00pm

    This event is aimed at researchers and librarians who support research and information literacy.

    Aim: To introduce researchers to a range of social media tools

    Objectives: At the end of the course participants will have:

    1. Discovered different ways in which researchers can use social media
    2. Examined a number of social media tools and how to use them
    3. Discussed aspects of ‘writing’ for social media
    4. Considered the strengths and weaknesses of social media
  • Library Information Research Group Member’s Day & AGM

    Wednesday, 1 July 2015 - 3:00pm to 6:30pm

    The Library and Information Research is holding its AGM on 1st July at the University of Liverpool. There will be three guest speakers and the theme of the afternoon will be information literacy research.
