Naomi Korn Associates and CILIP Partnership Training
Online, Half-Day Course
Wednesday 31 May 2023 10am-1pm
Copyright and licensing issues present specific challenges for academic librarians who are often responsible for compliance across their organisation. This includes responding to staff and student queries, communicating licensing terms, awareness
raising and policy development.
The half-day workshop, specially designed for staff working in the higher and further education sectors, will look at issues of relevance to academic librarians. Presented by experienced trainer, Naomi Korn, and supported by learning resources, delegates
will learn in a relaxed and interactive online space.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Describe the key licences used across academic institutions, including the CLA and ERA+ licences
- Analyse the relevant exceptions to copyright and discuss how they might be used in their context
- Understand the types of advice they can provide to researchers about copyright and publishing
- Consider copyright and licensing awareness-raising approaches that might be effective in their context
- Share their experiences and insights with the course tutor
