This detailed half-day course provides an essential overview of how access can be provided to orphan works, what constitutes a reasonable search, the role of risk management, and an opportunity to plan how to adapt your orphan works policy and procedure. 

This course will benefit those wanting to expand their knowledge about the management of orphan works and how they can embed best practice in their organisation.

This training is suitable for individuals who already have a basic understanding of copyright and/or have attended our Copyright Essentials training.

  • Examine possible solutions to orphan works and what constitutes a reasonable search

  • Determine how to manage risks within the context of orphan works

  • Consider and plan practical strategies to update and improve your orphan works policy and procedures
