Hi David and Bronwen, I'm a government information librarian in Toronto, Canada. I'd love to think of new ways to collaborate.

You both have interesting locations and roles.  I can see great opportunities for broadening engagement but to start with a few challenges:

Challenges:  - working across time zones- multiplicity of specialisms and sectors covered- Competing demands of different SIGs- Value of being involved in a number of different professional bodies to reflect subject/sector/location

Hello, I work in the National Library Board in Singapore. I now catalogue physical materials. I started my library career in a public library. I worked in a university library (reference work and later in the university law library) for 7 years after I obtained my MSc in Info Studies at Loughborough Univ of Technology.. I moved to the national library where I did reference work, digital cataloguing and now physical cataloguing.

Good afternoon. I work in Kurdistan, Iraq, as Director of the University of Kurdistan Hewler Library, we are a small English medium university. I started here as the Cataloguing Librarian 13 years ago and we built upwards from an empty space to what we have today. I had worked in college and university libraries in Britain for 22 years previously. One of my former colleagues has recently return to Singapore, and also recently joined CILIP (Nisa Kamaruzaman).

Hi, I work in a school library in Sydney, Australia, but I am from the UK. I too would love to think of new ways to collaborate with overseas colleagues.

Hi, It's a year snce the last comment on your original post, but hopefully you are still listening... :-) We know each other from pervious CILIP and UKSG activity. I did use to work in the UK for many, many years, mostly inthe special and Medical libraries sectors.

I did use to work in the UK for many, many years, mostly inthe special and Medical libraries sectors. I am now the University Librarian at the University of Gibraltar (the role is more formally called the Parasol Librarian as it is endowed by the Parasol Foundation Trust). I'm really interested in building new, international collaborations not that I am living and working outside the UK.

Interesting to hear from those outside UK. If you are outside full time work (part timers, on a career break, retired/semi retired, volunteers etc) what are your challenges in keeping connected? I was in Rotterdam for IFLA this year and my involvement with the KM Section is definitely useful for keeping a more international view of things.
