Vote Libraries 2022

#VoteLibraries in the local & national elections 2022

Encourage your candidates in the May 5 elections to support #VoteLibraries

On Thursday 5 May, local and national elections will be held in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales to appoint almost 7,000 new elected representatives.

CILIP is asking our members to reach out to your local candidates and encourage them to ‘Vote Libraries’ in recognition of the tremendous social and economic impact that strong local library services provide to a community.

  • Improve people’s life chances
  • Support formal, informal and lifelong learning
  • Improve local health and social care provision
  • Help build strong, more cohesive communities
  • Give people access to life skills, including digital skills and literacy

Read more about the impact of libraries in our article for The Bookseller.
