Career Tales: Moving between sectors

Randomised coffee trials (RCTs): the science of curating connectionsWednesday 16 October 2024, 12.30pm - 1.30pmDelivered via Zoom This session is focused on introducing participants to a commonly-used knowledge management tool in health libraries: the randomised coffee trial (RCT). We want to demonstrate the wide-ranging nature of our work in health libraries and showcase how our work can help to support organisational development, corporate priorities and knowledge management. The session will start with a presentation from a speaker on how RCTs have been implemented in their organisation and the impact and benefits of using RCTs. After a Q&A with the speaker, participants will have a chance to participate in a RCT and will be paired off for their conversations.
This session will: >> Deepen your understanding of library and knowledge services' role in organisational knowledge management and mobilisation >> Demonstrate how the health library sector has been using RCTs as a commonly used knowledge mobilisation tool and how it has been implemented in a real-life setting >> Allow you to experience an RCT first hand to understand the value that it might bring for users
