National Year of Reading - How Youth Libraries can support your Special Interest Group

Thursday 5 March 2025, 12.30pm - 1.30pm

This session will provide an overview of the range of resources and training provided by YLG. and will include an examination of fiction and non-fiction texts, including picture books, graphic novels, middle grade and young adult books. Speakers will also share examples of working practice in sharing non-traditional texts with harder to reach audiences of all ages and reading abilities, boosting literacy, wellbeing and engagement with reading.

 


This session will support you to:

  1. Increase awareness of YLG local and national training offers and opportunities
  2. Increase awareness of accessible and inclusive resources
  3. Increase awareness of small/independent/lesser known publishers and how to engage with them
