Health misinformation is everywhere, from treatments and vaccinations to over-the-counter medications, and it’s challenging people’s ability to find reliable, high-quality health information. How can library and information professionals respond?

Join the Health Libraries Group (HLG) for an interactive webinar that will:

- Introduce the concept of health misinformation and why it matters
- Share key characteristics and a practical toolkit for spotting misinformation
- Provide space for networking and sharing real-world experiences
- Collaboratively build strategies to tackle misinformation in your own context

This session is perfect for anyone working in health information, public libraries, or any role where accurate health knowledge is critical. Join us to strengthen our collective ability to fight misinformation and protect public trust. 

This session will support you to:

>> Identify indicators for potentially unreliable health information.
>>Demonstrate effective communication strategies for addressing health misinformation with patients, colleagues, or community members.
>>Network with other librarians to share instances of misinformation and use the practical sessions to inform their own learning.

Sophie Castle
Clinical Librarian,
Medway NHS Foundation Trust

Sophie Castle has been a Clinical Librarian at Medway NHS Foundation Trust for two years. She has worked in libraries for 23 years and previously worked in prison, school and public library sectors and is currently undertaking CILIP Chartership. She is a CPD Project Officer as part of the CILIP Health Libraries Group CPD panel.
