Career Tales: Moving between sectors

Working Internationally with ILIG: opportunities, benefits and barriers Wednesday 16 October 2024, 12.30pm - 1.30pmDelivered via Zoom The session will begin with a brief introduction to ILIG's work promoting international activity, including our strategic work, our events, bursaries, and journal. ILIG members will talk briefly about their varying experience of working internationally. This will be followed by an interactive discussion of CILIP's new International Strategy, focusing on the way in which CILIP and ILIG can provide support for different modes of international working in a post-pandemic world. Are travel bursaries the best way to do this nowadays? What are the barriers to international working and how can we best overcome them? And what are the benefits? This session will provide:
>> A greater awareness of the variety of opportunities for working internationally >> A greater awareness of the strategic and ethical questions raised by international working >> Familiarity with Focus, ILIG's professional journal, and an awareness of the opportunity to publish on international work
