Dewch i’r digwyddiad ar-lein rhad ac am ddim hwn i ddarganfod mwy am brosiectau Llyfrgelloedd Gwyrdd Cymru

Roedd prosiectau arloesol Llyfrgelloedd Gwyrdd Cymru a gefnogwyd gan gronfa Kathleen Cooks yn cynnwys tyfu bwyd mewn gofodau creu mewn llyfrgelloedd, hyfforddiant llythrennedd carbon staff, arddangosiadau planhigion gyda thema, a meithrin sgyrsiau cenedlaethol newydd am newid hinsawdd.

Sefydlwyd Cronfa Grantiau Bach Llyfrgelloedd Gwyrdd Cymru i sbarduno twf prosiectau yng Nghymru fel rhan o’r Bartneriaeth Llyfrgelloedd Gwyrdd (am fanylion, ewch i www.cilip.org.uk/GreenLibraries). Nod y gronfa oedd cefnogi rhaglenni archwiliol ar raddfa fach, gweithgareddau a rhannu gwybodaeth o fewn llyfrgelloedd yng Nghymru i geisio gwella dealltwriaeth gyffredinol a chymryd camau i ddangos Cyfrifoldeb Amgylcheddol.

Prosiectau:

Gwasanaeth Llyfrgell Prifysgol Caerdydd: Cynyddu llythrennedd carbon staff a gwelededd prosiectau cynaliadwy

Roedd rhan gyntaf y prosiect yn cynyddu llythrennedd carbon ac ymwybyddiaeth hinsawdd ymhlith staff llyfrgelloedd trwy hyfforddiant llythrennedd carbon a ddarparwyd gan Cynnal Cymru. Ar ddechrau'r prosiect lluniwyd arolwg i fesur gwybodaeth staff y llyfrgell a'u hagweddau tuag at faterion amgylcheddol a defnyddiodd tîm yr Eco-hyrwyddwyr ganlyniadau’r arolwg a’r hyfforddiant a dderbyniwyd i ddatblygu pecyn hyfforddi llythrennedd carbon pwrpasol ar gyfer holl staff y llyfrgell.

Roedd ail ran y prosiect yn cynnwys adeiladu arddangosfeydd gyda thema o blanhigion yn y llyfrgelloedd. Roedd yr arddangosfeydd hyn yn ymgysylltu ag ymchwil gyfredol sy'n ymwneud â phynciau ecolegol, dinistr amgylcheddol, cynaliadwyedd a diwylliant. Mae’r arddangosfeydd yn ddatganiad gweladwy o ddiddordeb staff y llyfrgell mewn ymgysylltu myfyrwyr â phynciau amgylcheddol a hyrwyddo ymchwil Prifysgol Caerdydd yn y maes hwn.

Mae’r argyfwng hinsawdd yn her fawr sy’n wynebu cymdeithas heddiw. Mae ein prosiect yn gam tuag at gefnogi cenhadaeth ddinesig sy'n cofleidio trawsnewidiad gwyrdd mewn cymdeithas. Rhoddodd y prosiect gyfleoedd i staff ddatblygu sgiliau a gwybodaeth yn ymwneud â'r pynciau cynyddol bwysig hyn ac i rannu'r rhain gyda staff a myfyrwyr y brifysgol, a chyda'r proffesiwn llyfrgellyddol ehangach.

Llyfrgelloedd Bro Morgannwg: Lle i Dyfu

Roedd prosiect Lle i Dyfu yn ymgysylltu â defnyddwyr gwasanaeth a staff y llyfrgell o ran elfennau ymarferol a hwyliog o dyfu llysiau gwyrdd micro ac yn dod â phobl ynghyd mewn gweithdai creadigol i gefnogi meddwl cymunedol ac archwilio syniadau am faterion amgylcheddol.

Roedd y prosiect yn ymwneud â fferm lysiau gwyrdd pen bwrdd a sefydlwyd yn Llyfrgell Penarth. Roedd gweithdai celfyddydol rhad ac am ddim ar thema cynhyrchu bwyd cynaliadwy yn ennyn diddordeb cyfranogwyr gyda manteision llysiau gwyrdd a'r syniad o dyfu eu bwyd maethlon eu hunain.

Roedd y gweithdai'n dogfennu'r prosiect yn greadigol trwy bosteri, ffeithluniau a chynnwys digidol ac ar ddiwedd y sesiynau, cafodd cyfranogwyr gynnig pecynnau microwyrdd am ddim i'w defnyddio mewn cartrefi a’u hannog i rannu dyddiaduron ffotograffau a fideo o'u prosiectau cartref eu hunain.

Bydd modd ailddefnyddio'r offer fferm microwyrdd ar gyfer gweithdai yn y dyfodol a bydd staff y llyfrgell a gwirfoddolwyr cymunedol yn defnyddio'r prosiect fel templed; gan fynd â gwybodaeth a ddysgwyd ac offer i safleoedd eraill fel gweithgareddau allgymorth i barhau i hyrwyddo ac ymwybyddiaeth o gynaliadwyedd amgylcheddol.

Mae Llyfrgell Penarth yn llyfrgell ffyniannus yng nghanol y dref, gyda defnyddwyr a staff y llyfrgell ymroddedig. Mae prosiect Lle i Dyfu yn hyrwyddo’r syniad o lyfrgelloedd fel safleoedd ar gyfer arloesi a syniadau cadarnhaol sy’n cyfrannu at fwy o ymwybyddiaeth gymdeithasol ac amgylcheddol.

Gwasanaeth Gwybodaeth a Llyfrgelloedd Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru a Llyfrgelloedd Gwynedd: Gwirionedd Cyfleus

Roedd y prosiect hwn yn archwilio rôl llyfrgelloedd cyhoeddus wrth hwyluso mynediad y cyhoedd at wybodaeth ddibynadwy, awdurdodol, a diddorol am y pwnc hanfodol hwn, er mwyn helpu defnyddwyr i werthuso'n feirniadol wybodaeth sy'n gwrthdaro, ac yn ei dro, rhoi'r gallu i bobl weithredu.

Roedd y prosiect yn creu ac yn hyrwyddo casgliad o ddeunydd cyfoes, awdurdodol – gyda chyfran o’r deunydd hynny yn ymdrin yn benodol â’r cyd-destun Cymreig, gan gynnwys deunydd yn y Gymraeg – er mwyn hysbysu’r cyhoedd am yr agweddau niferus o’r argyfyngau natur a hinsawdd, byd natur a bioamrywiaeth, gan helpu i rymuso pobl i wneud newidiadau yn eu bywydau eu hunain.

Roedd y prosiect hefyd yn hyrwyddo’r casgliad llyfrgell sydd gan CNC fel adnodd dysgu gwerthfawr ar gyfer myfyrwyr, gwyddonwyr sy’n ddinasyddion ac eraill sydd â diddordeb byw yn y maes.

Mewn partneriaeth â Llyfrgelloedd Gwynedd mi wnaeth prosiect Gwirionedd Cyfleus hwyluso digwyddiadau mewn llyfrgelloedd cyhoeddus a gynhaliwyd gan amrywiaeth o arbenigwyr, arbenigwyr lleol a grwpiau cymunedol i hwyluso trafodaeth fywiog, a rhoi llwyfan i wahanol safbwyntiau o fewn ffrâm tystiolaeth glir.

Mae’r prosiect Gwirionedd Cyfleus wedi creu cysylltiadau cryf rhwng Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru (CNC) a llyfrgelloedd cyhoeddus gogledd Cymru i greu llwyfan ar gyfer gwaith allgymorth CNC ac i gynnwys y cyhoedd mewn sgyrsiau. Yn yr un modd, roedd y prosiect yn hyrwyddo llyfrgelloedd cyhoeddus fel canolfannau cymunedol hanfodol a chanolfannau dysgu ar y cyd am yr argyfyngau natur a hinsawdd.

The ground breaking Green Libraries Wales projects supported by the Kathleen Cooks fund included growing food in library makerspaces, staff carbon literacy training, themed plant displays, and nurturing new national conversations about climate change.

The Green Libraries Wales Small Grant Fund was sent up to seed fund projects in Wales as part of the Green Libraries Partnership (for details, visit www.cilip.org.uk/GreenLibraries). The fund aimed to support small-scale exploratory programmes, activities and knowledge-sharing within libraries in Wales seeking to improve overall understanding and take actions to demonstrate Environmental Responsibility.

Projects:

Cardiff University Library Service: Increasing staff carbon-literacy and sustainable project visibility

The first part of the project increased carbon literacy and climate awareness among library staff through carbon-literacy training delivered by Cynnal Cymru. At the project outset a survey gauged library staff knowledge and attitudes towards environmental issues and the Eco-champion team used the survey results and the training received to develop a bespoke carbon-literacy training package for all library staff.

The second part of the project involved building themed displays of plants in the libraries. These displays engage with current research related to topics of ecology, environmental destruction, sustainability, and culture. The displays are a visible statement of library staff interest in engaging students with environmental topics and promote Cardiff University research in this field.

The climate crisis is a major challenge facing society today. Our project is a step towards supporting a civic mission which embraces a green transition in society. Our project provided staff with opportunities to develop skills and knowledge related to these increasingly important topics and to share these with university staff and students, and with the wider library profession.

Vale of Glamorgan Libraries: Lle i Dyfu - Space to Grow

The Lle I Dyfu project engaged service users and library staff with the practical and fun elements of microgreens and brought people together in creative workshops to support community thinking and explore ideas around environmental issues.

The project revolved around a tabletop microgreens farm set up in Penarth Library. Free arts workshops themed around sustainable food production engaged participants with the benefits of microgreens and with the idea of growing their own nutritious food.

The workshops creatively documented the project via posters, infographics and digital content and at the end of the sessions, participants were offered free microgreen kits for use in homes and were encouraged to share photo and video diaries of their own home-grown projects.

The microgreens farm equipment can be reused for future workshops and library staff and community volunteers will use the project as a template; taking knowledge learnt and equipment to other sites as outreach activities to continue promotion and awareness of environmental sustainability.

Penarth Library is a thriving library at the heart of the town, with committed and engaged library users and staff. The Lle i Dyfu project promotes the notion of libraries as sites for innovation and positive ideas that contribute to increased social and environmental awareness.

Natural Resources Wales Information and Library Service & Gwynedd Libraries: Convenient Truth

This project explores the role of public libraries in facilitating public access to reliable, authoritative, and engaging information about this crucial subject, to help them to critically evaluate conflicting information as they encounter it, and in turn, give people agency to take action.

The project created and promoted a collection of contemporary, authoritative material – with a proportion specific to the Welsh context, including material in the Welsh language – to inform the public about the many aspects of the nature and climate emergencies, natural history and biodiversity and to help empower people to make changes in their own lives.

The project also promoted the library collection held by NRW as a valuable learning resource for students, citizen scientists and other enthusiasts.

In partnership with Gwynedd Libraries the Convenient Truth project facilitated events in public libraries hosted by a variety of specialists, local experts and community groups which facilitated vibrant discussion, and a platform for different perspectives within a clear evidence framing.

The Convenient Truth project has created strong links between Natural Resources Wales (NRW) and public libraries in North Wales to create a platform for NRW’s outreach work and to engage the public in conversations. Equally, the project promoted public libraries as vital community hubs and centres of shared learning about the nature and climate emergencies.
