CILIP North East AGM - with guest speaker Alison Cullingford, Head of Collections at Durham Cathedral

12th March 2020

Join us for our Annual General Meeting at Durham Cathedral. Our guest speaker will be Alison Cullingford, Head of Collections at Durham Cathedral.

17:30 - Arrival, networking and CILIP NE AGM

18:00 - Guest speaker: Alison Cullingford, Head of Collections, Durham Cathedral

Alison as Head of Collections is responsible for all the collections gathered over a millennium by Durham Cathedral: medieval manuscripts, printed books, archives, artworks, music, furniture, textiles, church plate and saints' relics.  She has worked for over 30 years in academic archives and libraries, but is now learning for the first time how to run a museum and visitor attraction.  In this talk she shares her take on working all over the heritage sector, what do we have in common, where do we differ - and why - and above all, how can we learn from and with each other?

Networking opportunities will be available after the event in a nearby pub.

To book your place, please email our Secretary, Suzie Williams, secretary.ne@cilip.org.uk

[Access to venue: On arrival, go to the main Cathedral entrance and you will be directed to the Prior's Hall from there. There is no step-free access to Prior’s Hall; a chairlift operates up a longer flight of stairs, and there are a few steps into the hall itself.]
