AGM with talk about City of Sanctuary and Libraries of Sanctuary

Tuesday 23rd March 5:30pm-6:30pm

Help us congratulate the Kittiwake Multilingual Library in Newcastle which became the first Library of Sanctuary in the North East in 2020.

Following our Annual General Meeting guest speakers Colleen Molloy and John Vincent will give a talk about what it means to be a City of Sanctuary and a Library of Sanctuary.

About our guest speakers

Colleen Molloy - Communications Manager for City of Sanctuary and Library of Sanctuary stream lead will give an overview of the City of Sanctuary vision of welcome and briefly explain the purpose and process of the Sanctuary Awards.

John Vincent - Author of the Libraries of Sanctuary Resource pack and currently writing a book on a similar theme for Facet Publishing, coordinates The Network which advocates for social justice. John will present resources and case studies to inspire and support information practitioners to ensure welcome and inclusion of people seeking asylum.

There will be time for questions and discussion.

Our AGM is a great opportunity to learn more about CILIP North East. We look forward to seeing you there and would especially like to encourage anyone interested in joining the committee to attend. 

This event is free and will take place using Microsoft Teams. A link to the Teams meeting will be sent to you once you have registered.
