Join us for this year’s HLG AGM where we will review HLG’s activities over the past year.

Immediately following our AGM we will welcome our guest speaker Sharon Stevens for our featured presentation:

“Moving from health to social care – reflections and lessons learnt.”

In this presentation, Sharon Stevens, Senior Information Specialist from the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) will provide an overview of the social care sector and emerging trends. She will also share her reflections on the differences and similarities between supporting the evidence and information needs of those within health compared to social care and some lessons learnt.

Sharon Stevens is the Senior Information Specialist from the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE). Prior to joining SCIE in July 2021, Sharon had spent the majority of her information career in health within the NHS and academic settings, in the UK and in Canada.

Roundtable discussion

As the Health and Social Care Act 2022 comes into being HLG are keen to explore how going forward we can make explicit our support to library colleagues delivering services to people in social care and other health adjacent fields.

Following Sharon’s presentation there will be time for group discussion focusing on the needs of libraries and Library, Knowledge and Information Professionals working in social care and similar health adjacent fields. Please come along and share your views.
