Recruitment series: application skills
25 July, 12 - 1:30pm, online
Applying for a job can be a nerve wracking and demoralising experience. In the first of our mini recruitment series, designed and delivered in collaboration with the Early career Academic and Research Librarians in London network (EARLL), we aim to support in minimising the pain and maximising the gain.
Have you ever wondered what a good application looks like vs one that needs more work? Do you struggle to write that personal statement? Come and join our workshop where you will explore what is important in an application, learn how to write a statement in a way that is relevant and impactful, how colleagues might shortlist, get top tips for application forms and cover letters.
During the session we will explore two applications which you will receive beforehand to review for yourselves. This session maps to the following PKSB domains:
PKSB: 12.7 People management
PKSB: 13.6 Communication skills Whilst this session will be particularly useful to students, new professionals and those returning to the profession, all are welcome regardless of sector and where you are in your career.
