We are delighted to announce an exciting collaboration between CILIP Ireland and BIALL which creates a fantastic opportunity for the local library, information and knowledge management profession in Northern Ireland.

The aim of the course is to introduce the structure of law in England & Wales and use of key legal information sources. The one day course covers theory of the English legal system, legislation and case law, and practical legal research experience. It will also briefly introduce the law making and law finding processes in Northern Ireland and the intricacies of conducting legal research in this jurisdiction. This course is intended for recent entrants to law librarianship, and for those working in more general libraries which have legal materials, and it is suitable for both librarians and library assistants. It will also serve as an opportunity for those working with legal materials to refresh their skills and knowledge.
