Especially for Green Libraries Week, CILIP Ireland and CONUL will bring together colleagues from across the island of Ireland to discuss their Green Library initiatives. Join us to get first hand tips on making
your library more sustainable, hearing what has been a success and to have an opportunity to put your questions to our experts.
Our speakers:
Brian O’Donnell, Deputy Director and Head of Estates at the National Library of Ireland - A quick tour of recent work in a continuing effort to address Climate Action at the National Library of Ireland.
Martin O’Driscoll, Academic Technology Coordinator and Chair of the Library Sustainability Group at University College Cork Current initiatives from UCC Library/Reducing Digital Costs.
Tim Neeson, Head of Assets, Libraries NI.
Mr Neeson is the Assets Manager responsible for capital projects and maintenance works to the Libraries NI estate and fleet. Tim is a qualified architect and has worked in both the public and
private sector joining Libraries NI in December 2016.
Ciaran Quinn, Maynooth University
Ciarán Quinn is the Research Support Librarian in Maynooth University and Library Representative for the Maynooth Green Campus Committee which involves bringing Green initiatives forward at a Campus and Library level. Ciarán will discuss MU Library as a Green Library and the current initiatives to promote sustainability and climate justice through our actions in the Library.
